Fire Protection Services

Haselmere Case Study

HASLEMERE COMMUNITY HOSPITAL

Project Brief

Site Introduction

Haslemere Community Hospital provides inpatient rehabilitation services for vulnerable adults.

Scope of Works

Following a Fire Compartmentation Survey, Hollmark Fire Protection Services were commissioned to complete all identified fire stopping remedial works. All breaches were remedied within the fire strategy plan throughout and included risers, cavity barriers and penetration seals, to provide 60 minutes fire protection throughout the building.

Site Considerations

The hospital is a live site, therefore regular liaisons with the client was paramount to ensure minimal disruption to the patients and staff. Extra precautions were undertaken to remain COVID compliant, from additional hygiene to social distancing. Due to the age of the building our specialist knowledge was invaluable in navigating the challenges that tight access and uneven walls can create.

Outcomes

Hollmark Fire Protection successfully completed all compartmentation works, within budget and on time. Due to the attention to details of our site team additional breaches were identified which were not reported on the original survey due to access issues, resulting in a fully compliant and tested fire protection system. All fire protection systems used are installed to the manufacturers recommendations and allow Hollmark to offer full certification of works with the LPCB accreditation scheme (Loss Prevention Certification Board).

Hollmark has been a preferred contractor of choice to the NHS for 15 years. We continue to provide a consistent and professional service across the NHS.
